I’m a board-certified pelvic health physical therapist (DPT) and AASECT Certified Sexuality Counselor (CSC), and I created Awaken to offer the kind of care I believe everyone deserves - care that is inclusive, compassionate, and rooted in the whole person.

With nearly 15 years of experience, I’ve seen how often people are told their symptoms are “normal,” minimized, or treated in isolation. I take a different approach. I look at how your physical health, emotional experiences, relationships, and environment all interact - and I use that understanding to guide your care.

My goal is to create a space where you feel safe, heard, and supported, no matter your background, identity, or experience.

I have been working with people around sexual dysfunction as a pelvic health physical therapist for nearly 15 years, and since the pandemic, have dived deeply into trauma and sexuality-specific coursework. My approach to patient care is person-centered and grounded in humanistic principles. I believe my patients/clients know themselves better than anyone else and as a healthcare provider, my job is to help guide them toward a path of healing and understanding without judgement, guilt or shame. 

Sexuality is a normal part of the human experience and should be treated as such by all healthcare professionals. Every human deserves the right to medically accurate, comprehensive, developmentally appropriate and shame-free sexual healthcare and education regardless of their sexual/gender expression, orientation, identity, body size, race, religion, culture, socioeconomic status etc. 

My approach to sexuality counseling is grounded in normalizing without minimizing the patient/client experience, education, respect for the patient/client’s autonomy as well as somatic/touch work within my scope as a pelvic health physical therapist. I practice from a sex positive and trauma-informed lens and try to help patients/clients understand how their lived experience as well as society, their culture, their religion etc. all work together to shape their sexual expression/personality. I am not a trained mental health provider, so the goal is not to process trauma or treat mental health symptoms, (I have a network of trusted providers I refer out to for that) rather, my goal is for all of my clients/patients to feel seen, heard and understood and for them to leave my office feeling hopeful and more understanding of their body and their experience. I want them all to have a  better understanding that there is a wide range of healthy and normal human sexual experiences.
